Live painting bucketlist — weddings I would love to paint
I’ve had the privilege to paint live at quite a few weddings. While the portfolio is growing, I get those stomach butterflies and inspiration, thinking ‘what if?’. Dreams are allowed, right? And perhaps your wedding falls into one of these categories/locations (then you’ll know it’s a match). Inspired by the wedding photography bucket list of Denise van Duren.
Below you’ll find, in random order, my wish list. Some are specific locations, others are settings or particular moments. What I would still love to paint, whether it’s about the vibe around me or the artistic aspect and the type of visual it creates.
- Between animals — for example, at the zoo, a large aquarium, or among alpacas
- With a dinosaur theme, for example, at Naturalis
- In a botanical garden (fun fact: I did an internship at Leiden University Press, in the building next door)
- In an art museum
- With a Lord of the Rings / Hobbit theme
- In the Efteling (then I’ll join the photoshoot — you can’t get married in the Efteling, but taking wedding photos is possible)
- In Phantasialand
- In Disneyland Paris
- With a Halloween theme
- Arrival by horse (or carriage)
- In a cave (for example, at La Caverne in the South of the Netherlands)
- At Villa Augustus (a quirky location here in Dordrecht, including a greenhouse and vegetable garden)
- In the monumental courtroom of the courthouse in Dordrecht (only courthouse staff can get married there, hit me up, I’m also a courtroom sketch artist)
- On Pampus fortress island
- In Kinderdijk, among the windmills
- Among the flower fields at Keukenhof
- At Highclere Castle in England (known from Downton Abbey, among others)
- The wedding couple in the snow
- With a (Masquerade) Ball theme
- With a drag queen as the officiant (who also gets to be on the canvas)
- At Pena Palace in Sintra, Portugal
- In a vineyard
- In a field/heath full of blooming lavender
- In the mountains in Iceland
It might be good to know for the international destinations: besides Dutch (and Limburgish dialect), I speak English fluently, and reasonable French and German. I am based in the Netherlands but travel all over Europe for (destination) weddings.
On the page about live wedding paintings, you can find information about my packages and the contact form. For those who help me check off boxes on this checklist, there’s a little something extra waiting. ;)
